Q: Which entity has more cash on hand heading into the last two and half weeks before the election -
a) Obama-Biden & the DNC
OR
b) McCain-Palin & the RNC?
The Times' Michael Luo has the answer....
All told, counting money still left in the coffers of the joint fund-raising committees, it appears that the McCain campaign and the R.N.C. actually had a similar amount left in the bank as the Obama campaign and the D.N.C. — nearly $100 million each — for the final few weeks of the campaign. It is difficult to make a direct comparison because some of the money raised by McCain-Palin Victory 2008 is directed to state parties.
If the money in the joint fund-raising arms is not included, the McCain campaign and the R.N.C. actually held the advantage over the Obama campaign and the D.N.C., $84 million to $77 million, as of Oct. 15.

Now those numbers alone really shouldn't worry you. After all, Obama can still raise money and McCain can't. Here's the thing, Obama isn't raising money at the torrid clip that he did in September ($150M/month). How much is he raising?
Senator Barack Obama’s fund-raising juggernaut appears to have slowed dramatically from its record-shattering pace in September, raising $36 million in the first half of October, according to new filings with the Federal Election Commission.
So Obama's on track for an impressive showing ($72M/month), but nothing close to the jaw dropping numbers in September. If the Obama's fundraising pace has slowed, it isn't unreasonable to assume that other efforts are experiencing similar drop-off, maybe not from volunteers (go us!), but from sporadic voters who now assume Obama will win this thing by mile.
Remember Plouffe's warning...
We gotten the campaign this far - $150M raised with a 3:1 spending advantage, record early voting turnout, etc..... Let's go all the way! Every dollar counts! Every minute persuading and turning out voters counts!
